NPR Interview
You can now listen to an interview John Holt recorded in February, 2006, while visiting Las Cruces to perform with the New Mexico State University Symphonic Winds. The interview was taped at NMSU by radio station KRWG-FM and is about thirty minutes long.
French Trumpet Concertos
Crystal Records has released French Trumpet Concertos, CD767 with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Kirk Trevor. This album features the concertos of Tomasi, Planel, Jolivet and Desenclos. This is the 5th solo CD released on Crystal and the most of any trumpet artist on that label.
Michael Sachs at UNT
Michael Sachs, principal trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra, will be my guest at UNT November 8th and 9th, 2006. Mr. Sachs will be giving a master class (12:00 Nov 8th, RH UNT, free) and will perform a solo recital accompanied by professors John Holt, Keith Johnson and UNT trumpet students on Nov 9th, 6:30 PM CH UNT, free

Crystal Records has released John Holt's newest CD Trumpet Concertos. John Holt, Trumpet; Slovak Radio Orchestra, Kirk Trevor, Conductor. Available thru Crystal Records, Amazon, or any other retail outlet where classical trumpet CDs are sold.
Acclaimed English mezzo soprano, Sophia Grech was my guest at the University of North Texas for a performance of arias for voice, trumpet and piano on February 26, 2006. The trio performed music from the operas and oratorios by G.F. Handel as well as two movements from "To Cast a Shadow" by Eric Ewazen. John will be joining Ms. Grech and pianist Natalia Bolshakova for several performances in the summer of 2007 throughout the United Kingdom and France. The concert at UNT featured John Holt, trumpet, Sophia Grech, mezzo soprano and Ekaterina Chernaya, piano.

John recorded four french trumpet concertos with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Kirk Trevor to be released on the Crystal Records label in 2007:

- 2nd Concerto for trumpet - Andre Jolivet
